Berkley Gulp Alive Soft Bait

Today I made a short review of Berkley’s Gulp Alive. Now this soft bait may have worked well for fishermen in other states, the Gulp Alive has failed miserably for me in the last two years.

I’ve tried it with a drop shot rig, Texas rig, and even on a standard jig head. The bass just don’t want to go near it!

Now I’m not saying I haven’t caught anything on Gulp Alive.

The crappie seam like like it and I’ve caught a few largemouth bass here and there. I still haven’t caught one smallmouth bass on it yet! Hooked a few largemouth bass over at Kent Lake and Lakeville Lake in Michigan.

It’s really nothing like what the pros advertise it to be.

I bought the recharge plastic container, I tried redipping it many times, yet the fish still do not bite.

This is one soft bait I highly suggest to avoid. I hate saying that too because Berkley makes some great fishing lures. My favorite soft bait is Berkley Powerbait, this stuff has worked for me for over a decade.

And there Berkley Flicker Shad is awesome as well. But just like everything else, Berkley makes mistakes.

Maybe in a few years they can perfect the scent. Also provide a better container that they use to put the Gulp Alive in, I explain in the video how this stuff does not seal properly.
