The Department of Natural Resources in Minnesota may move the deer opener a week later and make it illegal for hunters to party hunt for bucks.
This is to increase the population for larger-antlered bucks in the state.
A lot of groups in the state want the DNR to pass these new rules.
One organization, Quality Deer Management Association wants more restrictions to protect yearlings because about 60-70% buck population shot are yearlings.
There are no final rules and regulations just yet, but expect something to be passed before next season.
