A few weeks ago when I decided to take a fishing trip to Kent Lake in Milford Michigan, I almost hooked a rainbow trout.
I’m not sure if the lake is stocked with a lot of them or not.
It was in the deeper part of the lake near the I-96 bridge.
I was using a rainbow colored crankbait and was reeling up when I noticed I had a follow up, it was a beautiful speckled rainbow trout.
I was just so surprised to see one in the lake.
I’m sure it’s not that uncommon, I just never caught a rainbow trout before.
So I was kind of excited, I made a few more cast afterwards, nothing.
At the time I was fishing for smallmouth bass. Later that day I hooked a largemouth, but no sign of the rainbow trout again. Maybe one day in a future fishing trip, I’ll land one.
