Throughout the many years of fishing, I’ve turned to one fishing lure that always seems to work in any circumstance.
I call it old faithful, Berkley Powerbait of course! I’ve tried Berkley’s new product Gulp, but I have not had much luck with it.
When it comes to colors, I’ve found that certain ones work a lot better then others and I would love to tell you which colors I’m talking about.
My top favorite this past season was “green pumpkin,” it’s a color that seems to work in both clear and murky water conditions. If you click on the picture you can see all the teeth marks from the smallmouth bass that bit on it. Next up would be “Pumpkinseed,” the color brown has always been a success out on the water, whether it be on a crankbait or soft bait. Third in the lineup is “Smoke,” this color works well in murky water. It’s kind of clear colored bait but leans more to the color black with flecks in it. Smallies really love this color in Lake St. Clair.
These are the three main colors I always try when I’m out fishing and they always seem to work well, if you have some of you’re own you’d like to mention, I would love to hear from you.
By the way, on other fishing forums I’ve heard Peanut Butter and Jelly is another dynamite color as well.
