November Fishing in Michigan

Grandpa Gustafson from Grumpy Old Men

I’ve been meaning to get out fishing in the month of November, but it’s really cold and I’ve been busy with work.

The temperatures have been around 30 degrees this past week, “colder then a witch’s titty” as Grandpa Gustafson would say. It’s so cold lately that the UP is actually warmer then the southern part of Michigan. I guess that’s good because the fish are probably feeding before winter time.

A lot of people weren’t ready for the cold though, it kind of hit us like a ton of bricks over here in Michigan. It’s been warm most of Octorber then wham! Freezing temperatures!!! Been living in Michigan all my life and I’m still not use to all four seasons, I guess that’s what having four seasons is about, never getting used to it…

I think I’m going to try and get out on the boat today, the weather channel is actually calling for some warm weather. I know I have a few more days of fishing in me before I winterize the Crestliner. This may be my chance to get out and catch some big ones, I hear this is the time of season to catch some really big Muskies out on Lake St. Clair.

I should stop and get a full face mask before I go. I know it’s going to be very cold out when I punch it out on the lake. I should of bought one of these face masks along time ago, like always I forget and end up buying fishing gear on the day of. Hopefully Meijer or my local ski shop will have a mask.

Anyone else get out fishing this month?
