Muskie Buzzbait Fishing Topwater

Muskie Topwater Fishing

If you love to topwater fish for bass, you need to give topwater fishing a try for muskellunge. It’s mind blowing to see a 40 inch fish surface on top of the water. It almost looks like a gator flapping around!

While there’s many lures to try on top for Muskies, I find that the buzzbait works the best. There’s many blade baits to choose from nowadays, some companies have revealed buzzbaits that have two blades on them, which can be a lot more enticing for the bigger Muskies.

If you’re going to try this out, the right time of day is critical. Many muskie fisherman find that sunrise and sunset is the best time of day to flaunt the topwater buzzbait. That’s not to say the Muskie won’t hit the lure in the middle of the day, overall you’ll get more hits in the morning or at night with this lure. And try to look for structure, Muskie tend to hangout where the bass hangout.

It’s so much fun, topwater fishing is something you have to try out whether you’re an amateur or semi-pro fisherman. I just can’t wait till’ I get the GoPro HD camera, getting some slow-mo shots of the Muskie jumping out of the water will be priceless.
