This is the hot lure bass guide Gerry Gostenik was using when he caught those 4 huge smallmouth bass on the Canadian side of Lake St. Clair.
It’s such a good lure Bass Pro Shops is totally sold out in the ghost minnow model model 1.5 that dives 4-8 feet deep, but they do have the model 2.5 in stock that dives 8-12 feed deep.
Gostenik didn’t say what model he was using, but I’m pretty sure he was using model 1.5 because he said he was fishing in 10 feet of water. Model 1.5 will be perfect because you have to take in reference the weeds on the bottom, they probably grow 1-2 feet high. So the 1.5 model will be perfect for just skimming the weeds, right where the smallmouth bass will be hanging out.
The only downfall with the lure is the price, in Michigan’s hard times, $15 a lure isn’t a drop in a bucket. Gostenik still claims the Lucky Craft ghost minnow is worth every scent. I did notice that sometimes Ebay has them up for sale around $10 a pop, so you should check that site out every once and awhile.
