World Record Pike in Germany

Lothar Louis 55 Pound Pike back in 1986

Ahhh a fish out of the 80s era, an era that has been long forgotten by fisherman and hunters everywhere.

I have to admit, I’m a big 80s fan, loved the movies, music, and the women!

The monster northern pike was caught by Lothar Louis out of Grefeern Lake in Germany.

It was recorded as a world record northern pike by the IGFA. It weighed in at 55 pounds and 1 ounce.

It’s said that European fish get a lot bigger than the North American fish. A standard guide to Soviet freshwater fish lists netted pike from the Dniepr marshes at 131 pounds, and a 69-pound fish from Lake Il’men near Novgorod.

Imagine what that pike would of looked like… I tried looking for the picture but couldn’t find anything, dam!
