Any fisherman who lives in the southeastern part of Michigan has probably been to Lakeside Fishing Shop once or twice in their life.
The fishing store is kind of small yes, but the help you get along with the wide variety of fishing supplies is pretty darn good for a family owned business.
Most of the staff at Lakeside Fishing shop is very friendly which I like, they’re always open to fishing questions and willing to help anyone in need.
Most of the time their stock supply is filled pretty good, but there is times where I have to go to Dicks Sporting Goods or Bass Pro Shops because they have fallen short. But it’s totally understandable when you’re the only local fishing shop in the southeastern area of Lake St. Clair, they have a steady amount of customers that come in there daily. And since we’re in a broken heart economy, I’m just thankful Lakeside Fishing Shop is still in business. Most of the franchises have pushed out the family owned businesses, which is horrible, because family owned business is what keeps the economy up. I really don’t know what we’re headed for in this digital computer age, technology and big business has taken away many jobs for local hunters and anglers, I just hope the store and hobby stay strong!
Lakeside Fishing Shop carries some of my favorite lures too, I’m talking about Bomber crankbaits, Kalins soft plastics, and Berkley Powerbait. Without those three I would be an empty handed fisherman! It’s always fun to stop in there every once and while to just checkout the fishing pictures up on the wall and see if there’s any local fishing tournaments going on. They are a good source for fishing reports too.
