Four Bass, One Perch, and Muskie

Well just got back from fishing today, my friend Cameron and I caught four bass, one perch, and a Muskie.

The Muskellunge got off though, I was doing some jigging around 10 mile with some Berkley Powerbait in 13 feet of water.  It was around the fourth cast I hooked the monster.  I was trying to fight him and all of a sudden he surfaced, he tried to do a tail walk, but ended up just going 90 degrees into the air and back down.

I never seen a fish jump up in the air like that before, he looked like buoy popping right out of the water.  A fish has to have a lot of strength to do something like that.  Soon as the Muskie jumped, the jig came right out of his mouth.  I was so bummed out man!  It was quite the experience for me, it got my adrenaline going and I was shaking. Like I said, I never seen a fish surface like that, very cool to see. If only I had a picture.

We did some drifting today along with crankbait casting and jig fishing. The only thing we caught drifting though was a perch, the other four bass were caught on crankbaits. My friend Cameron and I caught two bass each. All in all it was a fun day of fishing, I just wish I could of landed that Muskie, it looked very big. When he jumped it was too far away to see how big he was. I guess I’ll be dreaming about him tonight.
