Forecast Good for Fishing Today

Forecast looking good for fishing

Well the forecast is looking good for fishing today, no rain whatsoever! Yesterday weather.com was claiming it was going to start raining around 1pm, guess what, it never did!

I don’t want to label weather.com as a bad service to use, but it just ticks me off when they get their forecast totally wrong. They claimed it was going to rain all day, not one drop hit the ground.

I went to bed early since I’m on the night shift, but my girlfriend stayed up, she said it was just a perfect day for fishing. Sun was out and it was pretty warm. Not the greatest day for fish to be hitting, since fish tend to like a cool day and cloudy cover. It was just a nice day to get out on the boat when it’s still warm and the sun is out. There’s not too many days like this left in the season, before you know it we are going to be hitting rock bottom temperatures. That’s when I’ll be having to dress with four layers of clothing, warm hat, and gloves. While I don’t look forward to the cold weather, I do look forward to the big fish feeding, this is the time of year when the big ones really start to feed!

Anyways, I’m hoping to try out some new lures and techniques. Lately the smallmouth bass have been very finicky in Lake St. Clair, hopefully their feeding has picked up. Last September I barely caught any smallmouth, it was all largemouth bass. Even if the smallies aren’t hitting, I would love to catch a few muskie and pike. When you’re fishing on Lake St. Clair you’re always bound to catch a muskie or northern pike, the lake is just filled with them. Just hope I have a pretty good day of fishing, tomorrow I’ll hopefully have some nice pictures of some pretty big fish. If not, it was just fun to get out of the house and be on the boat, Lake St. Clair is just a beautiful lake to be boating or fishing on.
