While most of us concentrate on buying the newest lures that come out each year and try to have a huge selection in our tackle boxes.
Other fishermen, such as fishing writer Rich Zaleski just have a small tackle box and only a few lures. His color selection isn’t even that big, along with the sizes of his lures.
Yet he still catches fish consistently throughout the day and year.
So what is Rich Zaleski secret? Well instead of worrying about having the latest fishing tackle, Zaleski concentrates more on studying the species of fish he’s going after.
He studies the fish’s habitat, feeding cycles, and the various factors that affect the way fish behave. These important factors can really help you locate the fish and find out what type of lure to use.
Rich Zaleski has a few books out, I think you can find find a few on Amazon.com.
I totally agree with Zaleski, I think some of us worry too much about the fishing lures and tackle we have, rather than concentrating more on the fish.
There’s no doubt that fish move around season to season develop different habitats, and feed during certain times of the day. Learning factors like this can really help you become a more successful fisherman.
