Fishermen Robbed in Florida

Safety first Fishermen

I was on Bass Resource forums today when I came across this post about fishermen who have been robbed both on shore and in boats at gunpoint.

You would think you’d be safer out on the lake but that’s not the case. Wallets and their fishing tackle were taken. The fisherman who posted the article also claimed trucks at the boat ramp were broken into and stolen as well.

It just reminds me of the time when I would fish alone at Kent Lake in Milford Michigan. Milford is a pretty safe area, but this winter I do remember reading something about a dead body being found in the park.

You can never be too safe fishermen, it’s always good to bring a friend along on your fishing expedition.

I know a lot of fishermen are talking about bringing their guns and permits along fishing, but I really don’t think that’s the answer. Most of the time that results in someone’s death.

As the economy gets worst you’re going to see a lot more of this, just be careful out there fishermen.
