Blue Fox Spinnerbait from the 90s

Blue Fox spinnerbait I bought in the 90s at Lakeside Fishing Shop

Take a glance at this Blue Fox spinnerbait I bought back in the 90s when I was younger.

I bought the lure at Lakeside Fishing Shop in St. Clair Shores, Michigan.

I figured I’d post about it after I examined some of the new lures Blue Fox has come out with.

It’s obvious to me they don’t make this spinnerbait anymore, because I couldn’t find it on their main website or at other fishing stores such as Bass Pro Shops and Cabelas. It’s too bad, the spinnerbait was a dynamite lure to use on northern pike in Lake St. Clair. The spinnerbait is very unique, it has a little rattle chamber near the colorado blade.

The lure is a around two decades old, I had to buy new skirts for the two Blue Fox spinnerbaits I have left, the original skirts were all worn out and fell off. I actually tried something different and modified my other Blue Fox spinnerbait with a big willow leaf blade. Back when I was a young kid, I was kind of an inventor, I loved to build stuff and modify my lures. You should of saw some of the tip ups I made for ice fishing, they were pretty funny looking.

Anyways, when I think of it, that Blue Fox spinnerbait might be a great lure to try on muskies this year in the fall. So far I haven’t tried either of them this year yet, I’ve been meaning too, maybe next time I go out I’ll give them a try. Like I said when I was younger they worked really good on northern pike in the lake.

Did anyone else purchase this Blue Fox spinnerbait back in the 90s? It really disappoints me when a lure company stops making a good lure. For instance my favorite rainbow trout Bomber crankbait I lost this year trolling, line just snapped. Total bummer, I have no way of getting that lure back since Bomber doesn’t make it anymore.
