Beetle Spin for Spring Fishing

Beetle Spin for Spring Fishing

Most fishermen think that you always have to jig to catch fish during the spring. So not true, one fishing lure that I love to use on fish during the spring is the beetle spin.

My other lure of course is the 3″ Berkley Powerbait Grub. But when the Powerbait isn’t working, I switch over to the Beetle Spin.

The flash the spoon gives of is just dynamite! Fish see the action of the spoon and grub, they can’t resist the temptation of biting the lure.

The standard jig heads on the Beetle Spins are meant for 3-7 feet, but if you add a heavier jig head you can pick up a fish that might be hanging out in deeper. And we all know how usually the bigger fish are found in deeper water.

Here’s a tip, after you cast your Beetle Spin, it’s always good to let the lure sink to the bottom for five seconds. During this moment sometimes the fish will hit the Beetle Spin!

The Beetle Spin not only makes a great fishing lure for the spring, but it’s effective in the summer and fall. Fishermen should definitely should have a few of these baits in their tackle box.
