Ban on Lead Ammunition

Everything has repercussions, all the choices we make and laws we pass. The new lead bans has reduced the amount of deer hunters by five percent, along few wild-hog hunters by fifteen percent.

A lot of hunters are very unhappy and can’t afford the price on new ammunition. Other groups have been hit hard, the Department of Fish and Game lost $200,000 in tag fees.

Tag sales did rise in California back in 2008, but the deer hunting zoes that were affected by the lead ammunition really started to plummet. As further evidence that hunters simply quit hunting in nonlead zones, wardens reported last year that their contacts with hunters were down 50-70% from the previous year, it’s obvious that it’s affecting the hunting areas. I hope things start to pick up, it’s really sad we are losing more and more hunters each year.
