Anyone Still Afraid of JAWS?

As ridiculous as it sounds, I have to admit I’m still a little afraid of the water(even freshwater.)  Ever since that dam movie JAWS came out, it’s still one of my favorite movies though.  Just the other day I saw a documentary on the history channel talking about the fear that movie created for people all over the world.  Even to this day, after a young kid watches this movie he or she will think twice about entering the water.

I fish in freshwater so I have a lot less to worry about.  Chances of getting bit by a fish is very slim.

But that’s not to say there aren’t any huge fish in freshwater in Lake St. Clair.  I’ve seen some monster muskellunge that have come out of the lake, some the size of people.  Now if they get that big, chances are the fish may take a bite out of you.  There’s been Muskie attacks reported all over the United States, not a lot, but it happens.

Remember the story from Robert Shaw about the USS Indianapolis, that monologue was absolutely spine tingling. Probably one of the best fish stories I have ever heard. Robert Shaw sure played that shark fisherman character Sam Quint pretty good. He’s definitely one of my favorite old school actors from Hollywood. I found the YouTube video of the USS Indianapolis speech from the movie, give it a watch!
