Underwater Camera for Ice Fishing

Anyone checkout some of the cool new accessories Cabelas has for ice fishing.

The accessory that caught my attention was the “Advanced Angler Elite Series Underwater Camera.” Now that thing looks neat, I bet an ice fishing accessory like this would be especially helpful for spear fishing through the ice.

The camera would definitely let you know if you had a big pike or muskie on the prowl.

It would even be good for identifying panfish as well. The underwater camera allows you to choose in either a 5.5″ LCD screen that comes with a 50-ft. steel mesh cable or a 7″ LCD that includes a 65-ft. steel mesh cable.

If you’re thinkg about buying this system, I would definitely opt for the bigger screen. There’s a control panel on the monitor that allows you to adjust the contrast, brightness and LCD light to best match the conditions.

I noticed that there was one bad complaint on Cabela’s site. “I bought the 7″ unit shortly before Christmas. I tried it in two different lakes and could not get a good picture on the screen no matter what adjustments that I tried to tune in.

It only had a decent picture when the camera was not in the water. I returned the unit.”

It’s pretty obvious what this is about! If you have a murky water lake, this underwater camera will probably not work too good. The other three reviews on Cabela’s sites were five out of five stars, so it must be a lot of fun to use!

Definitely have a look see on Cabelas website when you get a chance.
